Beach House - Bloom

Sound made of mythical chocolate

We all had one of those albums we've listened through so many times that we've worn off the records. Bloom is one of those for me. Somehow they've managed to find the perfect tension between ear melting synthesizers  and hearth wrenching poetry sung masterfully in the middle of it.
Now i know i'm late to write about this album , the dream pop band Beach House dropped this way back in 2012 and exploded with it, but i'm doing it for the sake of any future readers that haven't listened to Bloom.
The album is unique in feeling as a single composition. It manages to sway your will to take a journey with the opening song Myth - and leaves you off on a distant shore with Irene, a slightly better being.

I've became slightly suspicious of it's lyrics and their delivery- it contains ever so slightly su(b)real scenery and yet it still manages to feel so personal. Obviously personal for them, but the listeners manages to fit themselves and their tales into Bloom.
Go check out interpretations of their lyrics at Genius they're widely different for each person. It somehow feels for a lot of us that Beach House has made a soundtrack that fit perfectly as the soundtrack to our daily struggles.
Its a perfect balance between saying something that feels very real and personal and making it mystical enough that the listener is forced into painting a mental picture of what he's listening to - and that makes the people bring themselves into the middle of the storm theirs stories are telling.
And now after finally writing a review of the album i'm putting it into a time capsule, writing 2020 on it - which i'm gonna open on my birthday and thank myself for giving myself such an amazing birthday present.
