Roomful Of Teeth - Self titled

Creativity Ran Wild

Founded in 2009 by Brad Wells, the octet Roomful of Teeth has been broadening the limits of singing by combining different traditional techniques from all parts of the world. Choral music has never sounded so energetic and deep in content. It his hard to believe what actually a vocal octet can do.
The music sends chill down your spine and gives you an eerie feeling of being in a futuristic world, many see it as an musical embodiment of the cult movie Akira. I could definitely see that movie with this soundtrack. Unfortunately the illusion of being in an another world does get broken from time to with a more of a spoken part then it actually being singing, witch i find sometimes a bit to repetitive.
Even though the music does sometimes benefit from the lack of general direction and surprises you with it's constant bumps it would be nice to hear from some new and a little more straightforward compressors.

"There's no subtlety in there, it's like a hurricane, it's like a hurricane"

Simple Yet ingenious

Brad Wells has certainly manifested something interesting and i am really excited to see what do they come up with next, if you listen to the album, you'll be too.
