DIE ANTWOORD

Ninja and the Butterfly

Die Antwoord a rap-rave trio from South Africa, consisting of the married couple Ninja & Yo-Landi Vi$$er & DJ Hi-Tek. Die Antwoord is the backbone of the counter-culture movement Zef. Zef means having style but not being a capitalist. In parallel with this Die Antwoord often mocks the rap and pop icons for being sale outs and having such a fake, plastic image.
Their music is appealing to the real men of the streets, without glorifying them. After years of individual projects Ninja & Yo Landi's have recently became quite popular and a big part of it is thanks to theirs grotesque music videos (etc. "I FINK U FREEKY" ), which are from a cinematography standpoint with out a doubt unique and beautiful. Not in the classical sense though. Here is a compilation of some of the craziest music videos to date.

They have released two full albums, $O$ (2010) and Ten$ion, which was realesed by their own independent label, Zef records, after the dispute with their former label Interspcope. Yo Landi explained "they kept pushing us to be more generic". They have an honest, artistic determination not to give any value to the general public. Ninja said: "If you try to make songs that other people like, your band will always be shit. You always gotta do what you like. If it connects, it's a miracle, but it happened with Die Antwoord.".

They Came Like Aliens
For every rap/rave fan this is a must listen and an opportunity for those who have lost fate in rap music thinking that they are all sell outs,  to get some faith in the future of rap.
